Finally, I’m writing a SARMS before and after article for you guys.
Yes, this is one that’s been on my to-do list for a while. I recently completed a 60-day cycle of Ostarine, Cardarine, and Andarine.
My results have been incredible, as you’ll see in the photos below.
Over the course of the last 60 days, I packed on about 15 lbs. of muscle and lost about 10 lbs. of body fat. I lost the stubborn body fat that was giving me that undesirable ‘’bloated’’ look (see below) and leaned down while also bulking up a bit at the same time.
Growing muscle and shredding fat at the same time, is not easy to pull off, at all. SARMS will make not only make it possible but MUCH easier.
In this article, I’ll tell you exactly what I did to achieve this sweet combo. I’ll talk about what I went through during this ”SARMS before and after” experiment. I’ll discuss the dosages I took, what it felt like, where I got the SARMS, and the ups and downs.
SARMs Before and After Photos
Yes, this is me. The ‘’Before’’ pictures, were taken the day before the SARMS entered my body for the 1st time. The ‘’After’’ pictures were taken on Day 60.
Before I started taking SARMS I weighed around 180 lbs., and was around 14.5% body fat. While this isn’t horrible, it most definitely wasn’t up to my personal standards. Not even my normal, year-round standards actually.
I was overweight and was starting to let myself go a little (at the time).
In the 2nd picture, my weight increased to 194 lbs., and my body fat had dropped down to 10%. This is a huge difference in only 2 months. If I had gone another month, I have no doubt I could have dropped even further down to 8%.

My experience on these was very positive, for several reasons. I had much better strength, much more endurance, energy, and I possessed more drive and ambition (overall). The endurance, cardio and cutting were a result of the Cardarine (GW-51516). The strength and drive I felt I attribute to the Ostarine (MK-2866). The Andarine (S4) gave me the cut and dry look and helped me cut.
In the after photos, I’m better in every way. I’m leaner, I’m more cut, I’m more refined, I look more confident. Everything is better. I attribute my lean and defined look to both the Cardarine as well as the Andarine (though the Ostarine helped a little too).
Andarine is primarily taken for cutting and reducing water retention, and Cardarine is primarily taken for endurance and stamina (increasing cardio).
My diet was also on point here too. The main thing I did was I started tracking every single calorie I ate (or drank). This is harder to do than it sounds, and takes some getting used to. For this, I used Under Armour’s MyFitnessPal app.
Although it’s not easy transitioning into the habit of tracking every calorie, it’s something I highly recommend you start doing.
Even after your cycle is over, the habit of doing this will keep you accountable, and more importantly: self-aware. You would not believe how easy it is to overconsume calories when you’re not paying attention. Starting his habit opened my eyes to this.
I ate a LOT of protein on this diet. 5 eggs every day for lunch, and dinner would consist of either steak, beef, chicken, turkey, or pork (with potatoes and butter).
I also ate cheese, carrots, green apples, and a few green vegetables. Also, a lot of pickles because they’re low calorie (this helped with hunger pangs). I only drank water, coffee, energy drinks (yeah I know) and occasionally milk.
I did not drink anything else.
Of course, I still had my cheat meals. The images below are a couple of cheat items I still enjoyed while in the middle of this cycle:
What my doses & stack looked like:
Everyone’s goals are going to be different. Just like gear, different SARMS produce different results. If what I was able to achieve looks and sounds appealing, then here is where I’ll give you my dosage breakdown.
During my 2 month cycle, these are the dosages I took daily:
- 25mg Ostarine (One Full Dropper)
- 20mg Cardarine (One Full Dropper)
- 50 mg Andarine/S4 (One Full Dropper)

These were more than adequate. The company I used was RAT’S ARMY, and I enjoyed their product. Not only because it obviously worked, but also because they offer flavored SARMS.
They are also very reliable, available via phone, and responsive over email.
My package shipped out quickly and arrived within a matter of days. They take their customer service very seriously which is something I pay close attention to.
CARDARINE/GW-501516 (20mg., ”Cinnamon Sizzl” Flavor):
Boy am I glad I took Cardarine. My cut and dry look above is mostly attributed to the Cardarine.
At the time I started this cycle, my cardio was a little out of whack. I was going through ”another one of those periods” where I wasn’t doing enough of it.
So including Cardarine in with this cycle gave me just the push I needed to get over that hump. There have been studies conducted that have shown Cardarine to increase stamina by OVER 200%.
This was something I noticed very quickly.
My workouts (and pre-workout HIIT running sessions) were longer and better. Cardarine just helped me have MUCH better gym sessions overall. Namely: it helped make my intense workouts easier to get through, which was huge.
Cardarine binds to peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors instead of the androgen receptors, however, it’s looked at as a SARM.
OSTARINE/MK-2866 (25 mg.,”Grandma’s Pie” Flavor):
Without a doubt, the muscle gain and my 3-Dimensional look came from Ostarine.
Again, I took 25 mg. a day of this, 5-6 days a week. Usually, I didn’t take it on my day off. This was a mistake on my part, as I’ve since learned you should also take SARMS on your off days. Next time I’m just going to take it 7 days a week.
Luckily, it didn’t really hurt me too much, though I’m curious for next time how much better I’ll look at a 7 day a week dosage.
MK-2866 is widely regarded as one of the strongest SARMS. I can now see why.
Ostarine is the one you’ll notice the fastest. It helped me decimate and shatter some of my max lifts with the weights. I was stronger and felt much more powerful (overall) while on Ostarine.
ANDARINE/S4 (50mg. ”Clown Tears” Flavor):
Andarine, AKA ”S4” is an incredible SARM, I can now confidently say. I took 50 mg of this 6 days a week, for this 62 day period.
Though not as strong as Ostarine or another popular SARM called ”RAD 140”, Andarine is still VERY powerful in what it can help you achieve.
Andarine is known for its ability to help you cut fat and also gives you that cut and dry look. So the Andarine and the Cardarine were both responsible for my ”cut and dry” look on this cycle. Other thing Andarine is known for doing is strengthen bone density, increasing your strength, and building muscle.
Keep in mind that the photos you see of me above were my first SARM’S cycle, so it’s very achievable to see a drastic difference after just one 2 month cycle.
The investment I made in this cycle was more than worth it.
It had been a while since even the last gear cycle I did. After moving abroad I just fell out of the fitness habits that I’d grown accustomed to (gym 5 days a week, eating very clean, etc.). That said, going through this experience brought me back to what I was used to, which was great.
I’ve talked here at Mission Life Motion about the 1st 3 gear cycles I did. As I get older, I’ll most start to transition more over to doing SARMS cycles than gear cycles, as SARMS are safer and less harsh on your body. SARMS also don’t age you like steroids do.

I turned 35 years old a month into this cycle too by the way, and for what it’s worth: I’m 5’10 in height and I’m a mesomorph.
It’s important I point out that I’m not a hard gainer. It is not difficult for me to gain weight, at all. Never has been. I had to watch every calorie I ate, which I mentioned.
If I hadn’t gotten into the habit of doing this, I EASILY would have gone over my caloric daily limit (which by the way was 2150 calories a day).
The way I figured out how to calculate this, was by using this calculator (I recommend using the ”Mifflin-St Jeor Formula” option in the advanced options part)
Calculate your BMR and subtract 200-300 calories from this number.
Wait…the calculator says subtract 500, why are you saying 200-300 (instead of 500)?
I feel a 500 calorie deficit or more is simply too big of a deficit to start out at for a natural athlete. You’ll just be sacrificing more muscle mass at a faster rate. You’ll get leaner quicker, but you’ll also lose lean muscle at a quicker rate too.
It didn’t take long for me to feel the SARMS kick in (a few days). I had a noticeable jump in strength.
Once I got my calories in check, it was easy to lose weight. Every night before bed I would look in the mirror, and I would look better every, single, night. It was an amazing feeling and it was incredible to watch.
I felt amazing too, which made the visual of myself each night that much better. My chest felt rock hard, so did my arms and legs. Everything did.
My libido was higher, I had more DRIVE, determination, and ruthlessness about me. It reminded me a bit of being on Testosterone. The best part was that I literally had NO side effects. At all.
Although I should point out however that during the last 3-4 days, I took a little more than my normal 50mg./day dose of the Andarine. This caused me to have a very slight yellowish tint in my vision.
I’ve read reports of this happening with other guys once they took over 50 mgs.
SARMS BEFORE AND AFTER: My First Cycle Experience (2 Months).
The pictures in this article show the results from my whole 8-week cycle of Ostarine (MK 2866), Cardarine (GW 501516), and Andarine (S4).
For this first stack, I did 2 months (8.5 weeks or 62-67 days to be exact).
This is something I’ll do differently next time. On my next cycle, I’ll do three months instead of two.
While a 60-day cycle did do the job, I would have looked even better if I could have extended this whole thing by one more month. From the pictures, hopefully it’s not too hard to see why this is.
One thing I did notice that was different with SARMS Vs. Steroids are is I felt the SARMS a lot quicker than I’ve felt steroids (when I’ve taken them in the past). Whereas gear (roids) take about 3-5 weeks to start really affecting my workouts, SARMS I could feel working right away.
Or at least after the initial 3 or 4 days, I could. It may have even been sooner than that, as I’m going off memory here. This is especially the case with slow chain Testosterone (like Cypionate and Enanthate, etc.).
Steroids, especially the slower-acting ones such as Testosterone Enanthate, can take up to a month to fully start kicking in.
SARMs Before And After (Ostarine, Cardarine, & Andarine):
Negative Side Effects?
Anytime you start to stack SARMS like I did (MK 2866, GW-515408, & S4) for my cycle, the odds that you’ll experience a few side effects increase.
Thing is, SARMS are like steroids in that you’ll get the most bang for your buck when you stack them. The guys that have a bad experience with things like SARMS, steroids, or even things like Kratom or Phenibut, feel that way because they go about it all wrong.
They don’t read articles like this one, they don’t do any research, they order one bottle, or one month’s worth of (just to ‘’test’’ it out), then when it doesn’t work (usually because they’re still eating like shit, drinking constantly, and not going to the gym enough), they claim they don’t work.
Or even worse they convince themselves it’s working when it’s not (they think they’re seeing results but one else does).
It doesn’t work like that pal. These are guys that order too little or only order a one-month supply of it.
They’ll forget to take it every day. Or if they do take it every day they take like 1/3rd to 1/2 of a dropper. They just go about the entire thing wrong, from start to finish.
You can’t just make up your own fucking rules with this stuff guys. It’s already been battle-tested. There is a right way and a wrong way to do everything. Taking SARMS is no exception.
Anyway, rant over. Yes, when you stack compounds there’s always a slightly higher risk there will be side effects. This was not the case with me as I mentioned. I took 3 SARMS and literally had no adverse side effects. I can’t promise once you go over the dosage amounts I took that it will stay this way for you, especially if you’re starting at a smaller size than I was (180 lbs., 5’10).
Compared to steroids, the likelihood you’ll experience negative effects goes WAY down. It would be a good idea to have a PCT on hand after you come off your cycle. I personally didn’t have to use one, but it wouldn’t have been a bad idea.
My Workout Regimine:
So let’s talk now about my workout regimen. If you’re going to spend the money and go on a SARMS cycle, it’s going to be in your best interest to make sure during the 60-90 cycle (whichever one you choose) that you are optimizing the hell out of your workout.
Your body will rarely if ever be in a better position to put on rock-hard muscle, and burn fat at the same time. I’ve used all kinds of different workouts over the years. There are 2 programs that I highly recommend you guys consider for this cycle. I’ve used both of them, and they’re pretty similar.
1) The 1st one is called Body Of An Alpha by Jon Anthony. Jon was the guy that first introduced me to SARMS by the way. His Body Of An Alpha book is the most recent of these two programs I’ve used. I enjoyed his method and found the book to be extremely packed with valuable information covering many aspects of fitness.
His routine is based on using the PHAT or PHUL splits and combines strength training with hypertrophy.
2) The 2nd book/program I recommend is John Doe Bodybuilding’s Shredded Opps. John’s knowledge of bodybuilding, the human body, and performance-enhancing compounds is hard to come by. I bought this program shortly after it came out and I’ve used it on and off ever since.
I pretty much rotate between these two programs these days. Both of them will help you achieve that ‘’V-Taper’’ look that women go absolutely crazy over.
While neither of these are necessary to see good results from SARMS, they make it a hell of a lot easier and faster. My advice is to choose one program and stick with it for the duration of your cycle.

So now let’s answer some of the most commonly asked questions. Below you’ll find a list of the top questions people want to know before starting on SARMS. If there’s anything I don’t cover here, just leave a comment below and let me know.
Do You Keep Your Gains From SARMS?
As long as you don’t completely abandon the gym after your cycle, yes you do. I would also advise doing a PCT (Post Cycle Therapy). I didn’t work out for 3 weeks after my cycle, and I still kept 80%-90% of my gains.
When In The Day Should You Take SARMs?
You can take them anytime you want to. The only thing that matters is taking them around roughly the same time each day. The closer to the same time every day you ingest them, the better. I always took mine around 10:30-11:00 am, and I’d work out in the afternoon around 4:00 pm.
You can do this, or you could take them closer to your actual workout. Really it doesn’t matter, because they stay in your system for 24-48 hours anyway.
Make sure you’re taking them on your off days as well (not just on the days you workout). You’ll have better, faster results that way.
How Long Do SARMS Stay In Your System?
They stay in your body for 24-48 hours. So the half-life is fairly long. It doesn’t take them long to enter into your system, and once they’re out, they’re out fast.
Can I Expect The Same Before and After Results As You?
Hopefully, my photos give you some kind of an idea as to what you can expect. Remember my body type is mesomorph. If you’re a hard gainer, I would focus more on the types of SARMS that will pack on muscle (RAD-140, Ostarine, Ligandrol). I don’t know that a hard gainer will benefit quite as much from the Cardarine or S4 as I did.
I took those SARMS because I wasn’t a hard gainer. You probably know what you are. If you don’t I would definitely get clear on that first. This article here should help you if you need direction.
As with anything in life, everyone’s results might vary slightly. I can tell you beyond any shadow of any doubt, that if you follow the dosing recommendations I outlined above, you keep your calories in check, and you are committed to going to the gym 3-5 days a week (5 would be ideal), that you WILL be pleased with your results.
I would guess on average most guys can expect to gain 15-20 lbs. of muscle. This is very good by the way.
How Long Does It Take To See SARMS Results?
SARMS packs a faster punch than steroids do. Meaning they get into your system faster, and they leave it just as quickly.
I noticed I felt different within a few days. I was stronger in the gym, which was how I noticed. I started to notice a visible difference after 3-4 weeks. I looked bigger but leaner at the same time, and more defined.
What Do The Studies Conducted On SARMS Indicate?
There has been a ton of research regarding the side effects of SARMS, as well as their effectiveness.
Here is an interesting one right here. One particularly interesting piece from this one I found was this excerpt:
“Ostarine improves LBM and physical performance in healthy older men and women. Ostarine had no unwanted androgenic side effects. A phase II study is planned to evaluate the safety and efficacy of Ostarine in patients with cancer cachexia.”
This is just one study, there are many more. Overall, their findings show that SARMS are insanely powerful, and VERY effective.
What SARMS Cycle Length Should I Shoot For?
The ideal SARMs cycle length will be for 2-3 months, and then you take a break for at least one month (or two).
Taking this 1-2 month break is important because it will prevent HPG Axis from shutting down.
Don’t be afraid to jump back on them after this, however. I’m on my 2nd cycle right now, and I feel amazing. I’ve retained all my previous gains and even have a few more now (and I’m only a couple of weeks in).

It should be mentioned I also took several supplements while on this cycle. These each helped me in their own ways, which I’ll briefly touch on below.
Supplements to consider for your SARMS cycle:
- Pre-Workout Formula (Gorilla Mind)
- Fat Burner (Gorilla Mind)
- NAC (1200 mgs. a day)
- Whey Protein
Pre-Workout (Gorilla Mode):
The pre-workout is pretty self-explanatory. This did wonders for giving me an incredible energy burst before and during my workouts.
I don’t know about you guys, but for some reason, I always feel heavy resistance in the 30-45 minutes leading up to my workouts. My brain will (even to this day) try to come up with excuses not to go. I’ll essentially try to talk myself out of it.
While this does start to subside after 6-8 weeks of working out consistently, for me it normally takes that long for these little bouts to stop happening. Gorilla Mode Pre-Workout Formula did wonders towards combating this problem for me. Although it still crept up a little bit, it was nowhere near as bad.
No other pre-workout I’ve taken has been as effective at avoiding this as Gorilla Mode.
I took this just to make damn sure I was shredding as much fat as possible. I adhered to an 8-hour Intermittent Fasting window for this cycle. Usually, I go with a shorter window than this (6 hours), however since I was working out a little harder than usual on this cycle, I felt my body needed my meals to be a little more spaced apart than a 6-hour window would allow for (for energy reasons in the gym).
So I extended my window by 2 hours.
The fat burner I use really helps me when it comes to Intermittent Fasting. It helps stave off hunger pangs in the morning while I’m fasting. Working out as hard as I was, I wasn’t sure if my hunger pangs would be worse than usual, so I bought Gorilla Mind’s fat burner product just in case.
Not only did it do wonders for suppressing my appetite, but it also gave me energy and helped me focus much better on my work during the morning hours. Most fat burners are garbage, to be honest. There is literally only one fat burner I take these days and that is the Gorilla Mind one.
On my next SARMS cycle (and there WILL be one), I’ll go about this a little more optimally.
Well first off, next time I’ll go three months instead of two.
I felt I could have made more progress if I would have just extended it by one more month. I might also consider going a little heavier on my daily doses, either for the whole cycle or if not then at least the first month (just to get them in my system that much faster).
Higher doses also would’ve meant 1. more muscle gain and 2. more fat lost (ex. I could have gotten to 4-9% body fat instead of 10%)
Either way, even with only a 2-month cycle I was very pleased with my results above. I’d just turned the corner from overindulging myself over the holidays, so my decision to start this cycle when I did really helped me out.
If you’re just starting out, there are two cycles that are best for beginners:
- The one I took (if you’re not a hard-gainer), which again I’m not, OR:

Both of these cycles will pack the muscle on, while at the same time shredding unwanted, excess fat. The most popular and well-known SARM there is, you might want to consider as well, and that’s called Testostolone (RAD-140).
I’ll definitely be adding RAD-140 to my next cycle.
