What’s up gentleman, this article will be a little bit different, what I’m going to do here for the next few minutes is talk about a recent consultation I had with Dylan Madden from CalmAndCollected.com.
For those of you who don’t know, Dylan Madden is a blogger who’s been around now for few years, and he’s got an awesome website called CalmAndCollected.com, which I highly encourage you to check out.
Anyway I recently reached out to Dylan on Twitter and asked him if he was available to do consultation call with me over Skype. He got back to me and let me know that he does consultations over What’sApp. The reason I wanted to book him was because I wanted to ask him some questions I’ve had over building my brand, my YouTube channel, my blog (missionlifemotion.com) as well as my Twitter.
As I’ve mentioned before in previous videos my plan is to build my YouTube channel, my blog, and my social media up over the next few years and make it a huge resource for young guys that are looking to better themselves and their lives, guys that want to chase excellence and excel in life as it pertains to health & fitness, wealth creation, and relationships with women. I mentioned a few videos ago that in June I’m going to be moving abroad to Belgrade Serbia, and will be going ”all-in” on MissionLifeMotion.
However, at the moment I’m putting all the pieces in place in order to make this happen. As you can imagine, there is much to be done between now and then before I can actually pull this off, but believe me it WILL happen, and once it does, subscribers to my channel and email list, can expect to receive a flood of new content to come their way.
Anyway, to get back on track here: I had a lot of questions and concerns for Dylan, about what I need to do over the next few years, to grow MissionLifeMotion into the vision I have for it. We examined my immediate goals (over the next several months) and my more long term goals (over the next years), and what I need to be focusing on in order to reach my goals.
One reason I reached out to, and wanted to book Dylan, was because Dylan has already done, what I am trying to do. He’s already gotten to where I am trying to go. He has an audience, he has a following, and he’s making a good living online doing what he does for CalmAndCollected.com, which again is his blog. When you’re trying to accomplish something, or get somewhere in your life, there is no better thing to do, than to reach out to someone who has already achieved, what you yourself are trying to achieve.
Someone that’s already been successful at it.
Not that MissionLifeMotion of course will be exactly like CalmAndCollected (because it won’t be), but it will at least grow to the levels that calmandcollected has.
I also wanted to reach out to someone who was ahead of me, but maybe not so far ahead of me that he’s either:
a.) Impossible to reach or get in touch with or,
b.) Is so big, or has been successful for so long, that he doesn’t remember how he got there.
Dylan to me is someone that is someone that’s about 2.5 years in front of me as far as overall progress is concerned. In other words, I want to at least be (2-3 years from now), where he is as far as what he’s done and accomplished with his brand is concerned. I certainly have a lot of work to do still, but after speaking with him on this call, I feel very very confident that I’ll be able to get there now.
What I liked and got out of my call with Dylan Madden:
1.) Dylan was a straight shooter with me and broke things down in way that was easily digestible.
What do I mean by that? Well, sometimes when you get consultations from people they throw a lot of stuff at you that you don’t necessarily understand. With Dylan this was not the case at all, not even a little bit. Everything he advised me on, was extremely straightforward, digestible, and just made perfect sense to me.
Which brings me right into my next point,
I think the reason this was the case with him, is because:
2.) He listened to my questions/concern, more than he talked (spitting out a bunch of information at me).
Instead of waiting for his turn to talk, he listened to what all my questions and concerns were, so the advice he gave me was much more tailored to me specifically (and therefore was much more helpful) to me specifically.
Everyone is unique, and everyone is just a little bit different, so when you’re advising someone on how to do something, or how to get somewhere, it really helps when you have the proper context around the person you’re talking to. Dylan did a great job of recognizing what about me was unique and different, and therefore ”tailored” so to speak, most of his advice around that, which is rare (at least in experience).
I will say right now, that I highly recommend booking Dylan for a consultation, on whatever it is you’re either struggling with, or trying to accomplish in your life. Of course, this doesn’t have to be the same thing I booked him for, if you’re familiar with his blog, then you probably know already that he’s very knowledgeable about several key areas of success in a man’s life.
Namely: how to find your purpose and mission in life (which I can also help you do by the way), how to generate and create wealth for yourself, how to fix your financial situation, and how to be successful with your relationships, health and fitness, and things you can do to optimize your life (things like the life benefits of no fapping, mental performance enhancers like kratom, etc.).
The scope of what he writes, and does videos on is fairly broad, but I’d say the things I just mentioned are probably his main ones.
3.) I’d say the last thing I like about my consultation with Dylan was that he had a good attitude while on the call.
He wasn’t in a ”weird” or indifferent mood when I talked to him, and he made it feel like this was all something I could actually do and pull off. Not that I don’t feel that anyway, but his attitude on our call, and the way he explained everything just left me feeling much more optimistic about my goals, and where I plan on taking my brand.
This is something that’s extremely important: you want to feel a sense of optimism after you do a consultation with someone (for the most part). I guess if you’re a really hard case, it’s possible you could leave a consultation call feeling overwhelmed at the road in front of you, but even then, even if you’re a really hard case, you STILL need to feel like its something you can actually do and undertake.
Because otherwise, you won’t take action. You’ll be crippled with dread and anxiety, and you’ll ultimately leave the call in perhaps a worse mental than you were in when you started it (which is the opposite of what you want).
So just remember this guys: you want to be very careful about who you take advice from, especially if its advice you’re paying for with your hard-earned money.
Again, I highly encourage you to seriously consider booking Dylan Madden for a consult, on anything you need advice on, help with, or are struggling with. With Dylan, I can pretty much guarantee you that you will not be disappointed.
